Smile grand-mal seizures

Hello,
I am new to this site. I guess I just introduce myself. I am 42 yrs old. Had my first grand-mal when I was 28. I have them about once a year. I am taking Keppra and Tegretol. Of course, nobody knows where my seizures come from. I recently had to switch doctors due to a move. I had a MRI and EEG done. Now my doctor is telling me that my temporal lobes are shrinking. This could be a cause or an effect of my seizures. I don't know what to make of this and it gives me an uneasy feeling. Anybody out there who had the same diagnosis? Looking forward to talk to all of you (or at least some of you). I know we understand eachother because we are dealing with the same issues and difficulties in life. Bless you all.

Hi inesn, welcome to the forum.

Did the doctor say that your temporal lobes are shrinking or the hippocampus? FYI - Human Herpesvirus-6B with Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

Hi inesn! Welcome to CWE. As you can see, a friendly group. Feel free to ask questions, chime in, or just vent in the padded room. Also, check out the threads Bernard suggested, as well as the the library here at the site. They all have great info.
