Hello

Hello my name is Jason Miller from London and I have been epileptic for about 8 years now and initially had 3 grand mall seizures each a month apart.

I have been clear for about 5 years but suffered another grand mall about 2 weeks ago which has really put me back.

Hi Jason - Welcome to CWE
Sweet little girl in that picture. Is that your daughter?

If this was my daughter I would be asking what was different during that 5 years. What was different prior to 8 years ago. We all have a seizure threshold and yours was high there for a while and then lowered recently. My daughters is low now but she was okay for 14 years.

Keeping a journal has been the best resource for me. I can see changes and can try to connect the dots a little quicker.

There is some great info here that might help you understand and make sense to your particular episodes. Ask some questions too, the folks around are really helpful.
Glad you joined us.

Hi Jason, welcome to the forum.

I feel your pain. My wife managed to go 4 years seizure free and med free. It's been a rollercoaster since the seizures returned.

Red face Hi Jason!

Nice to meet you! Beautiful little girl you have there. Sorry to hear about the seizures. Have you figured out what's making them increase in frequency?

Thanks for the kind welcome and Meetz1064 in reply to your question about figuring out what's making the seizures increase in frequency? I am not completely sure but have one theory it might have been more of an accident as I had forgotten to take my medication in the morning on the day before the seizure so took all 1500mg that night and then forgot to take it again the following morning (the day of the seizure) so planned to take all 1500mg again that night but had a seizure early evening before I could do that.

My doctor told me the Epilim Chrono only stays in the system from between 12 to 18 hrs so I would have been outside of that.

Welcome Jason!
I am fairly new here, but really enjoy this freindly home away from home. The people in here are GREAT.
There is lots of information available if you have questions, more support than you can imagine, and plenty of humor to lighten the mood when needed.
Welcome again,
From the great State of Ohio
