Smile Hello new here!

Hello all!

My name is Chloe and I was told that I had Fibromyalgia in April of 2007. but things kept getting worse so I was finally refered to a nero who is trying to determine if I have epilespy or MS, I am currently waiting on my EEG results, which has been a task because I am not patient!
I was looking for a forum so maybe I could learn a little more about epilepsy to have a heads up incase of a diagnosis. So hi all!

Chloe

Welcome Chloe! We're a really friendly bunch here. A couple of people here have fibromyalgia. So feel free to ask questions, or vent if needed. My best suggestion is to read the epilepsy 101 thread. It gives an excellent overview of epilepsy.

Hi Chloe! WELCOME
You might read this first: Epilepsy 101 - Part FAQ, Part tips and advice
Also there are some interesting connections at this site: www.dogtorj.com to what you have mentioned. Read the sidebar as it will make sense after the initial question of "why did she suggest this to me".

Glad you decided to join us.

LightningBolt Hello!

Welcome to CWE. You've found a wonderful place to be, and a great place to learn about ep. Even if you don't have it, knowledge about ep is a great thing to have, so stick around anyway.

I, too, have fibro. I'm sorry to hear that you're facing the possibility of ep. Going through the EEG is not fun, I admit. I can't stand sitting still to have the leads put on either, nor do I like just lying there while they have me look at things.....

What has your neurologist had to say? When will you get more answers? Have you had an MRI yet to check for the lesions that they look for in MS?

Take care,

Meetz

I found out yesterday from the doctor that I do have epilepsey and the EEG confirmed it. She gave me a perscription last night and it starts with a N ( it's at home and I am at work) I'm slowly going to start weeding out medications and see which one works. She told me that she wants me to take it 1 every night for the first 7 days and then go to 2 , they are a 100mg pills.
I must say that I happy that now know what is wrong that way I can start to overcome it!

Post Ahhhh.

Well, at least you have a definitive diagnosis now.

Starting with an N, huh? Neurontin, maybe? Good possibility. It's used for fibro, too.........

Yes I think that is it! She said that it would help with both of them and that I wouldn't or should I say shouldn't have a hard time with it, I am very sensitive to medicine and I tend to get sick from certain ones. She thought that it would be a good starting place. Do you know anything about it? Have you tried it?

My daughter took a form of Neurontin as her second trial anti-epileptic drug. She took Gabapentin. I eventually took her off of it, because of the four she tried, she had suicidal thoughts while taking this. Most of the top meds have been linked to this tendency.

Cool Thank you!....

It is Bernard's kind gesture to let me explore how music\auditory stimulus may effect us around here!

It's a very crude, very non-scientific experiment that hopefully people enjoy to boot!

Any 'feel good' (or for that matter 'feel bad' for some reason) songs you want to request?

Enjoy!
Spencer

Talking It's been such a long time

since I've taken it, I don't really remember what it was like, but I will do some asking around....family and friends that is, and see if they remember what I was like on it. I've been through most of the meds available to me now. I don't think there are too many choices left to me.

Good luck with it!

I always suggest looking here too.. just for an overview. Nothing scientific, but sometimes that is just the type of research I like. Seems more realistic when you hear it directly from the patient.

Well I must say that you have already won my heart with the Beatles!

But I would like to see the Strokes or Sublime in there, through I must say music itself can be a form of medication and has the power it left anyone up! I find that I like music any kind and that each genre has something to offer depending on the mood that you are in!
