Hi Lisa, welcome to the forum.

I hope you feel better soon (I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're under the weather because your stressed out). Hopefully the sleep study will offer some definitive answers.

FYI : sleep apnea and epilepsy

Welcome Lisa

The testing is a pain inthe ass but it's the only way to get any definative answers. It's good that a wide range of tests are done because it can rule out other disorders that can mimick epilepsy and/or define the type of epilepsy your fiance has.

I commend you for seeking information. So many times we find our loved ones live in denial and it makes it much harder on the person with the disorder, stresswise.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Lisa,
I hope you are feeling better now and things are ok for your fiance. If his tests are coming back normal, do look at getting him evaluated by a cardiologist. Syncope, heart spells that can be identical to seizures are very commonly misdiagnosed as epilepsy. This link is to an article by a heart specialist about it and how to go about getting a proper diagnosis.

I wouldn't be disappointed. I have been told that the seizure is like a warning that the body had malfunctioned somehow. Perhaps you can be proactive with dietary changes, while you are waiting for more tests. It gives you something to be in control of, and you get the benefit of good nutrition.

Good luck with the referral
