Hi!! I'm New too!!!

Hey! My name is Danielle. I am originally from Indiana, but luckily I was blessed to move where it is warm. I now work as an illustrator in beautiful Sarasota, Florida. I Love It!!
Anyways I want to thank Bernard for inviting me to this site. There's so much to look through I don't even know where to begin!! I love it!
Anyways, I have been diagnosed with epilepsy since age 10. I am 26 right now, so it's been a big part of my life. I won't go into a lot of detail right now, but if you want to read more about my story you'll see it in the History Book Section, it explains the Gamma Knife Surgery I had for my epilepsy a few years ago.

Hi Danielle

Like you, I am new to this, although unfortunately not new to epilepsy, I hope you get good treatment in the U.S.A we do get fairly good treatment in the UK, but you have to go and ask for it, like no-one says, oh by the way Elaine, did you know you could possibly have brain surgery for your temporal lobe epilepsy. I had a Hippocampal Carvenoma removed from my right Temporal Lobe in Sept 2000, I was seizure free for 5 years, then it decided to come back with a vengeance! I had passed my driving test, got a really cool job, and met the man of my dreams, but I was back where I started, and my car is sat in the driveway covered in rust!
I'm just waiting to have a second lot of brain surgery in London any time now, so fingers crossed it works this time.
Lucky you living somewhere warm! It's rarely warm in the UK these days, but we usually go to Egypt or Thailand and Hong Kong to find the sun. My dream comes true next Spring, we've got a Carribean Cruise booked and we fly from New York! My dream to go there since I was a kid.
I hope this web site will continue to be as interesting as it has been so far, there is so much to look at, and it's good to know we're not alone eh?
