Smile Hi my name is Kim. I live in MI

I am skeptical that this site will benefit me but am willing to try. I had a seizure on 10/23/2011. My last seizure before that was on 10/24/2010. I had meningitis in 2002, this is when seizures became an issue in my adult life. I, at 6 wks. of age,was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, and was diagnosed at 18months Dandy Walker Syndrome.I have a shunt and have had many shunt revisions. As a baby I had post-op seizures. When I was in college carrying 14 credit hours and having 2 part time jobs I seized. The doctors blamed stress, but the reason was actually a shunt malfunction that was discovered and corrected several months later. That is me thanks for listening.

Hi kimmy, welcome to CWE!

Feel free to make yourself at home, check out the different forums, and help yourself to the coffee and snacks...

Best,

Hi, Kimmy,

Welcome to the forum!

There are lots of us in here who have multiple neurological disorders - seizures are just one of them. I find a lot of comfort from the people in here who truly understand this part of what I'm going through. I'm hoping you do, too.

Hi Kim,

Welcome to CWE,

Although I've never had meningitis, hydrocephalus, or Dandy Walker Syndrome, I do have epilepsy and have had brain surgery and the VNS. We are here to listen and if you need to rant.........

I try not to get down, but not being able to be independent stinks.
