I am EVOL

hi i'm EVOL i'm 2 days fresh....just happened upon the site and enjoying it thus far. I'm a metal and punk fan, i love almost all music except country, rap, hip-hop. I'm big into local/indie/underground/alternative scenes and i go to concerts as much as i can. I like to enjoy handcrafted one-offs and imported beers, breweries are fun. I'm epileptic since age 14 and 28 now, i live in Ohio and my yahoo and myspace are posted on my profile (not that i check them often). Nice to meet you all.

Glad to have you join us EVOL.
I am sure one of my sons would head out to a concert and a beer with you. Though, Ohio is a tad bit far to journey.

Welcome to the site EVOL.

I like imported beers too - and rock music.

I've got a thing for Guinness and 90's rock.

I can't do the drinking either. BUT, I do also get a high from music. I have such a wide variety of taste in music including heavy rock such as Metallica, Jimmi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Boston, Yes and a few others. I also love classical, opera, indie, and whatever fits my current mood. Lynyrd Skynyrd is about the only southern band I like to hear.

Gulden = antique word for 'Gouden' = Golden
Draak = Dragon

(Beer from Belgium)

Our local Whole Foods had a Gluten Free Beer Tasting this past week. I suggested my son go check it out, but he had a "first" date that was more important....
go figure

It tastes fantastic, it's a barley wine (generic for A certain way of producing a deeper, smoother tastier dark ale) i googled it when i first tried it about a year ago, found out the meaning to the name and the history of the beer and the dragon/ship symbol. It's a neat lil story and a great ale. It's imported from belgium upon being brewed straight to california then distributed all across the USA i suppose it never really sits that much more than a double dog ale or a rogue dead guy ale....properly packaged beer has a long shelf life under proper temperature. Besides everywhere i buy it it's very hard to get much as it sells so quickly. Besides belgium makes the best beers in the world but this is coming from a guy who thinks guinness is the domestic of imports and i'd rather drink saltwater than a Budweiser or miller etc...

Couldn't agree more EVOL... I love imports. Belgium does make the best. Hoegaarden, Leffe...

I also really like Boddington's and Kilkenny.

I haven't tried Gulden Draak, I don't think we get it here.
