| Hi recall, The appointment hour may go by faster than you think, so make the most of it. It's a good idea to write down all the questions you have for the doc, and also the replies as well. If you can have someone come with you that can be a big help too. If there's anything you don't understand, ask the doc to explain it until it's clear. There are no stupid questions, and you should feel free to tackle anything that you are worried, confused, or curious about with your seizure disorder. Ask about whether the doc will clear you for the activities you want to pursue, and if not, what needs to be done to make that happen. Should you adjust your meds or try something else? What kinds of side effects might be expected? How many other patients with complex partials has your doc treated? Does the doc have any familiarity with complementary/alternative approaches such as nutritional changes or neurofeedback? (It's a huge plus if the doc is open to these!) If so, could he refer you to a neurofeedback practitioner, or recommend specific diets or supplements that might be beneficial. That's for starters, I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions. When's the appointment? |
