Introducing Myself. It's time.

I always lost time. All my life.(I found out many years,it runs in the family-grandpa had it, but it was shamfull) I remember being 5 years old, and the teacher shook me, and kicked me out of the lead in a school play. All my life, I would have friends throw me away, with no reason. I ruined 2 marriages, as I was told I was viscious. I never treat anyone without respect. A nurse friend seen me having an episode. I finally went for help after a fire. She seen me have an episode, and asked to go to therapy with me. I would have smoke detectors going off in my head, while smelling smoke, and panic attacks. I was diagnoised with epilepsy, with PTSD as a trigger. Stress induced epilepsy. GREAT. It's now time to face it. Thanks for the sight. My friends are wondrful now they know, and it seems if I start swearing and being bad..all they have to say is "stop-kids are here" and I freeze for 10 to 15 minutes then, reboot and it never happend in my mind. Thanks for reading. It is a short story, just to let you guys know who and what I am. I really like the soap icon. Thats who should come out when I'm not there!

Hi skipper68, welcome to CWE!

I'm sorry it took so long to figure out what was going on, but it's great that you have finally found some answers, and have great friends to help support you. And folks here at CWE can offer a lot of advice and support too. I hope you feel free to wander around the forums and make yourself at home.

Best,
Nakamova

Skipper,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm so sorry it took so long to get a good diagnosis. Problems from a missed or incorrect diagnosis can literally ruin our lives.

As you read through all the posts in here, finding a good doctor is the holy grail - we keep looking and looking and looking until we find one and we finally get the right diagnosis. Then we can get the right treatment.

Hang in there.

Thanks forthe warm welcome. I like this sight. I think my greatest fear is having an episode, and getting in legal trouble. It's never happend to me, but I have also heard of others that have. Their are groups that try to educate law enforcment the diffrence between an episode and a criminal out of control, thankfilly. The more learned is the more safe I feel. Most associate it with the grand mal, not the petti ones.
