Thumbs up

Bernard thanks for the tip on the Vitamin B-6. Maybe I will read up more on it.
Meanwhile i think I will stick with 100mg of the Vitamin B complex for now. When I finish this bottle Vitamin B Complex I will decide whether to take the B complex or the B-6. All this can be confusing. I want to finish the bottle of B Complex (it cost enough) before I try something different like just taking the B-6 alone.

When I head to my primary doc this week I am definitely going to bring up the Vit B6 idea, and see also if I can find myself an anti depressent for the time being, I am having a hard time keeping my head up, and no not the suicidal type just like a cloud is over my head and the seizure/anxiety has taken over my mind and soul. Also hoping that I find myself off seizure meds 3 years from now as my neurologist doc said he wanted to see if my symptoms have gone away and essentially grew out of them. Meh, having a tough time with dealing with all this :/

A paradoxal effect occurs sometimes.

Mention vitamin B related epilepsy are types of E. that do respond well to extra vit. B. This situation is called "B6 Responsive Epilepsy" (instead of "dependent").
Also an important concept: this is not B6 deficiency. "B6 or pyridoxine deficiency" means that an otherwise normal person doesn't get enough B6. This is very different than a child with pyridoxine-dependent seizures, who has a presumed defect in pyridoxine metabolism. These children are getting nutritionally sufficient B6, but their bodies can't use it because of a metabolic problem. Fortunately, the metabolic block can be overcome by supra-therapeutic B6 doses in many cases.

Definite thumbs up and thanks for the B6 information, as I will all read through it here shortly once the projects calm down. Mainly right now I am just trying to deal with thoughts that I may have brought on my seizures. My doctor started me on Lexapro, directed to take half tablet for the first 2 weeks then full tablet the after. A little over 4 weeks I had my first two seizures (tonic clonic) while on the Lexapro, and my second set of tonic clonic's came when I was supposed to be on 75mg of Effexor XR but I was actually on 150mg....4 weeks or so is when the second set of tonic clonic's happened to me.
Just starting to wonder if I caused my seizures more/less and the thought of it has added to my depression; just can't get these types of thoughts out of my head, especially since I have not been diagnosed with epilepsy after all my tests. Meh, not sure what to think.

Find something that you enjoy doing and make the attempt to get your mind off the negative thoughts. We had a discussion here about cyclical thoughts, and how they might possibly play into the idea that one can bring on seizures. I can't seem to find the thread where we discussed this. However, many get stuck in cyclical thoughts.

It was suggested that daily you take the time to write down your thoughts on paper. Longhand. Get all the thoughts out each day 2-3 pages worth. Then move on for the day. Don't look back.
