myoclonic jerks at movie theater or PLMS?

Im not entirely new here, I just didnt know where to post this question. Im curious does anyone else get myoclonic like jerks in movie theaters? Ive noticed this happens to me alot recently, Im not sure if there truely myoclonic or maybe related to restless leg syndrome, I know in alot of RLS descriptions they say sitting for long in a movie theater can trigger it, but the thing is I dont get the creepy crawly feeling of RLS I just jerk a bit, but RLS sufferers tend to have PLMS or periodic limb movement disorder, which doctors use to call myoclonus, Im not sure if thats what Im experiencing or what? Im finally seeing a new neurologist Wednesday. Im crossing my fingers that the new doc will actually listen to me and believe me, the last doc was an jerk.

I'm tempted to make a comment about jerks at movie theaters, but I guess you're not talking about the person wearing the big hat who always sits in front of me...

It's hard to know what's going on, since RLS and myoclonics seem to overlap in terms of causes and symptoms. But if the creepy crawly feeling isn't there, then I'd lean toward the myoclonic diagnosis. Do you think it's something about the sitting that triggers the jerks or is it something related to the flashing on screen?

Im not sure, I have a pretty good home theater and it doesnt trigger any of the jerks, at least nothing like the movie theater with the big screen, Ive noticed I get the jerks real bad sometimes. Sometimes its one really good Jerk or a few small clusters through the movie, Happened at Star Trek, and at Avatar 3d. Probably other movies but I didnt pay attention to it as much as I do now. The jerks seems to have gotten worse, as Ive gotten older. Id have to say its most likely the huge bright screen in a dark room that does it, but I cant be sure, I dont get the jerks till the previews start, and the room dims.

I work in show business and do alot of concerts, but they dont bother me to much, but then its a brighter enviorment and Im not sitting, and Im preoccupied, though I had horrible problems one tour after missing a few days of the topamax I was on and going back on it, I think it was to much of a dose to use after being off it for a few days. Im no longer on topamax, caused cognitive issues, I think. Was on it for tremors, so far havent been diagnosed with Epilepsy and Ive only had one possible Tonic Clonic, which I think was from my possible Myoclonus being aggravated by 5htp.

Maybe it's the movie theater speakers that trigger it.These days they're pretty loud. If it's the lights, you could try wearing tinted glasses to see if that makes a difference. Also try sitting as far back as possible in order to minimize the movements on the screen.
