Unhappy New here

hi sorry if I sound depressed... I suffer with epilepsy and depression I enjoy drawing, writing stories, shopping and most of all playing video games (even though I probably shouldn't be playing them... Don't care). I like gambling sometimes. I am addicted to caffeine (I think it is an addiction. I feel ill without it. Just being honest). I hate epilespy and life. I love anything to do with horror and love being scared. I am into anything dark. I love alternative metal (mcr etc) That's it really.

Hello, MySweet
C'mon in. First, I highly recommend you have your epilepsy med(s) checked out as a source of your depression. Next, epilepsy is a condition everyone here would rather not have because I think it's a pain in the A# %!Don't hate life because it has way too much to offer, including cures for seizures. You've come to a great place, though: everyone here offers advice & humor to help ease the frustration of epilepsy. Trust me, you're not alone. Take care! ~Ann

From my own personal experience, caffeine can trigger a person to have seizures. So my suggestion is for you to do some experimenting by decreasing your daily intake of caffeine, to see if the results will lower your seizure frequency.

Hello MySweet~
Welcome to CWE board. I hope you like it and find all of the info you need. Also meet some people like I did. Like Amy said: "Your not alone." Which she is right. I am shocked with so many people that have helped me with my problems when I needed it. But if you ever need something just ask. Take care.

Hiya

As Ann said you won't find any epilepsy lovers on this site, but it is something that we have all had to find our own ways of coping with.

For me, it has built a stronger more determined character, one that wants to experience everything that this world has to offer, life is too precious to spend your time hating it. (I know that its easier said then done sometimes)

I have panic attacks from time to time so I dive into planning my next travel/photographic stunt this helps to take my mind off the situation and relaxes me. You have mentioned several hobbies, have you tried doing these when 'things' feel like they are getting on top of you? I also find that listening to music helps, my fave at the moment is Stiff Little Fingers.

This is a great place to come and talk/vent about epilepsy it has helped me a lot over the last few months.

Take care

Kim

Hi MySweet! Welcome to CWE. I once was a caffeine addict too. So I totally understand the not feeling well when you haven't had your caffeine. As for the video games, as long as the pictures don't flash too quickly, and you're not photosensitive, you should be fine. As you can see, we're a fairly friendly bunch. So feel free to ask questions, just chime in, or just vent.
