| Hi jayde, Your symptoms do sound neurological, and could definitely be epilepsy. What have the previous doctors had to say about them? Have they prescribed any medications? If so, have the medications helped at all? The neurologist should be able to help you come up with a treatment plan. In the meantime, start keeping a detailed ymptom journal if you aren't already. This can be helpful the doctor, and it can also help you potentially identify any patterns, or triggers that may be contributing to your symptoms. (Triggers can be a wide variety of things -- fatigue, hunger, hypoglycemia, food allergies/sensitivities, hormones, infection, physiological and emotional stressors, etc.). Also write down as many questions as you can think of for the neurologist, and write down the answers when you see him on the 22nd. Best, Nakamova |

| Hi, Jayde, Welcome to the forum! I agree that your symptoms could be neurological. About the EEG results - whether they are positive or negative you may still be having seizures. Seizures have to affect more than a 2.5 inch square of the brain to be picked up, and many focal seizures are smaller than that. (focal seizure = affects just part of the brain, like a simple-partials like your slow motion and deja vu) Also, EEGs only penetrate a shallow amount into the brain and some deeper seizures can't be picked up - it's particulary a problem in frontal lobe and deeper temporal lobe seizures (like in the amygdala). A seizure journal is a critical step. One important function is to help objectively see if your seizures are getting better or worse on your medications. Here's a thread with different seizure formats. Seizure Journals |
