Possible autonomic seizures???

Hello all. I have been having episodes of sudden vertigo, tachycardia, increased BP, and nausea, lasting 30 seconds to a minute or so. For a couple hours prior to this I just don't feel "right". I don't know how to explain it. Then after these episodes I am exhausted and have frequent urination for a couple hours. It's really strange. I do have a capillary angioma in my temporal lobe found on MRI, but I was told it was nothing to be concerned with. I have researched online regarding the symptoms and am coming up with either autonomic seizures or neuroendocrine tumors. I have been put through extensive scans in the past for possible neuroendocrine tumors such as pheochromocytoma or carcinoid. So far we have come up empty handed. I was seen by a neurologist several years ago and they did EMG test which was normal, but that was before all this started. Is there anyone here that experiences autonomic seizures and can explain to me in detail how they feel before, during and after a seizure? I have read that angiomas can be the cause of seizures, but like I said, I was told a small angioma was no big deal??????

Thanks in advance. I can't live like this and am deperately seeking info. P.S. all cardiac work-up was normal.

I don't know anything about angiomas, but I do know that on some of my stronger auras, I get the same symptoms that you describe. Sometimes my stomach will start to grumble loudly also. Sometimes it will stop there, and sometimes will develop to a seizure. The only thing I don't have that you describe is the frequent urination afterward.

I would def go back to the neurologist. Don't let them just give you one short 20 minute EEG and tell you nothing's wrong; request at least a 24 hr EEG. It took years for me to finally get diagnosed. Good luck!

Thank you melevebos and mamaruns. I have had similar feelings. I have temporal lobe epilepsy and have had other type auras. I have thought that the vertigo and nausea were auras, and my neurologist agreed, but I haven't heard anyone else say they have them.

I appreciate your sharing your experiences.

These are different than what my daughter reports so I am not much help.... and yet I have heard her friends say that she mentioned that she was dizzy on occasion. She also has not felt good in the morning, and then I get a call from school saying she has had a seizure. So I guess she does have a few of the same "auras" after all.

Would you be interested in trying a nutritional change that might help?

Hi melevebos, sounds like you need to get tested with an EEG/QEEG/video EEG to see if there is any epileptiform brain wave activity happening. It definitely sounds like you might be having simple partial seizures (and if you are, you want to get them controlled before they get worse).
