| Hi Mlhanenkratt, welcome to CWE! Did your doctor refer you to a neurologist? That would be the next step along with MRI and EEG tests. Can you think of any reason why the memory loss occurred? Are you under any particular stress? Fatigue is the #1 trigger, but there are plenty of others (infection, hormones, metabolism, etc.). Write down anything you can remember from the hours and days preceding the episode. Has anything like this ever happened before? How are you feeling now? I hope you are doing okay, and can get some answers soon. Best, Nakamova |

| What I believe was my first major seizure was Sunday. I was home with my twin five year old girls. All of a sudden their faces went blurry. And then I saw 4 of them ( double vision). Most of the rest of the stuff I don't remember. I read the texts I sent and the people I interacted with. I sent my boyfriend a message that something wasn't right. I didn't feel stable couldn't stand. I do remember that I was suppose to take my kids to their dads which I did do. I don't remember the drive or the kids in the car. I remember thinking "stop sign" and having to slam on the brakes. With gods help I got them there. I don't remember walking with them up to his apartment or leaving his apartment. I then proceeded to drive a few blocks to our local hospital where my grandma was. (she had just had hip surgery). Told her about my dizzy, blurred vision and basically left. Don't remember talking to her or driving home. I later text my girls' dad and asked him if my kids were still in their pajamas. He said no they are dressed. I don't remember dressing them. I lost 2 hours of my life and had some very poor judgements that could have harmed all of us. Went to dr yesterday he thinks it was a seizure and wants me to see a neurologist and just threw out a diagnosis of global transient amnesia. It was the scariest day of my life!!!! Any advice??????? I went to my family Dr on Monday on he is referring mr to Neurologist. Just waiting for appointment. I can not have an MRI due to having a neurologist-Stimulator implant in my back. | What kind of implant do you have in your back? What is it for? If it's a neurostimulant it could be related to your seizure. |

| I have had a constant pain in lower back so had an implant put in. Hasn't helped and I didn't have it on that day. I have been on tropimate for a few years due to headaches and my dr put me on that to prevent migraines. So dr was surprised that I could have had a seizure with being on that. Looking back I have had "dizzy spells" for years. I have never experienced anything like the other day though. |
