Oh Cheryl, I'm so sorry. I wish I could give you definite answers, but epilepsy is not a predictable or consistent disorder. The best scenario is if your son's seizures are controlled. Is he hospitalized? Is he on medication now? Is it making a difference? Can you talk to his doctors? They should be helping you understand what to expect and what precautions to take. Give them a call ASAP so you can figure out the next steps.

This has to be so scary for you. I feel just terrible that you and your family have to go through this. I am glad to see that you are not blaming him. I would also try to put away any obvious things around the house that might be used again. Big hugs to you!

I hope this postictal phase is finished and never recurrs.

I had a postictal psychosis at the end of monitoring that I have no memory of almost two decades ago. About ten years after that after many many seizures and a bit of stress, voices came upon me. I simply called the hospital for my neurologist. I was worried about hurting people.

Those are the only two experiences I've ever had and hopefully it stays that way. The article below mentions how psychosis can be caused and treated.
