Hi. I have been researching to find out more about foods that are rich in glutamate and the effect they have on the brain.
Am still learning alot - am not sure about pumpkin and sunflower seeds. I thought they were good for you, but now I've read that they are sources of glutamate. Isn't that bad ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

All nuts and seeds are a bit high. Not sky hight like grains, corn, soy, and cow milk though.
They are one of those "fine in moderation" things. My problem is the moderation part. So I am just not keeping them in the house for a little while.
If you can honestly say you just eat *a handful* as in what you can carry in one closed hand, I doubt they would be a problem.
With me, I would think I'm just eating "a handful" and then suddenly the bag is empty and I have no idea how that happened.

Pumpkin seeds are an excellent source of magnesium, so worth keeping in the mix...
