Welcome Hablabla If you have seizures it is very possible for anything about them to change at any time. I was born with partial seizures & like you I never had them at night. Eventually I had my first tonic/clonic and then years later started having nocturnal seizures. I don't have them often but it's now no longer unusual for me to have nocturnal ones. You should mark down when you have seizures-what time & what kind and if anything is different. I usually mark down when I sleep, when/what I eat & anything else I can think of. Maybe someday I'll figure out what triggers them. Also, I moved your post into the foyer so that you can get the official welcome to the site.

| Hi Hablaba, welcome to CWE! As Eric says, seizures can change overtime, especially if they are uncontrolled. Your seizure threshold can be lowered, and new triggers can set you off. Even if alcohol wasn't a problem in the past, it might be a problem now, especially as your metabolism changes as you age. And there are factors related to drinking (whether alcohol or caffeine/stimulants) -- like fatigue and dehydration -- that can also cause seizures. I know it's tough when you are fifteen, but the healthier and more moderately you can live your overall life, the better it will be for your epilepsy. I know the medications can be pretty unpleasant, but it is important to take them consistently -- stopping and/or starting too quickly can actually cause seizures. If you feel like the side effects of a medication are intolerable, talk to a doctor about trying something else and tapering down slowwwwwly. You might want to see an Ear Nose and Throat specialist to make sure there isn't something going on with your ears that may or may not be seizure-related. Best, Nakamova |

| Welcome hababla. I have complex partial seizures and have day and night ones. The morning after I usually have a massive headache and my boyfriend tells me I had one. I generally "feel" like I've had one but the confusing part is that my aura's are so dream-like that I'm never too sure. Also, every time I've had a seizure, i have weird tastebuds after. Maybe it's reading the signs? Soreness, headaches etc? |
