Red face Sorry I'm late!...um?...HELLO!

My Apologies!!!!:
First of all, SORRY EVERYONE for not coming here first with a proper introduction!...I have found myself going 1000 miles an hour these days and, while I MEANT to do it, it just wasn't getting done!...sorry!

My Bio:
Okay, I'm an Austin, TX musician\songwriter\support-department specialist\computer programmer with the big E for 32+ years now. I'm on Zonegran, Trileptal, Vitamin supplements, and a regimen of 'beneficial' music of my own doing (research of my own here...thank God for iPods!).

My Story:
Do you remember your first seize?...well I sure do! I was on my families couch on a Satuday morning watching 'Speed Racer' (can you say 'Japanese animation'?) at the age of 8. The next thing I knew I was looking at the roof of an ambulance? Most of you know the rest I'm sure. I have run a gambit of multiple waking mixed GTC\absence seizures during the daytime to nocturnal GTC seizures oer my journey and have settled lately into once or twice a year GTC's depending on how sick I let myself get. I have been able to go 'seizure-free' for 2 1/2 years but only because I did NOT get sick during that time. Unfortunately that has been awhile back now...I believe 9 years ago. Anyway, it sure beats multiple seizures during a waking day!

My Thang:
On a positive note, I'm BIG into researching ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES for epilepsy right now. That (and the great atmosphere) is what brought me here! Bernard (and many others) have done a great job so far spreading the word about alternatives...I want to let others know about music and its potential.

Well, thanks and I'm glad you made it here to share your experiences with music/sounds.

Let me extend an official welcome to the forum then:

I went to school @ UT. I sure did enjoy my time in Austin.

Thanks to Bernard and Stacy I know their are other ways to live with my life with epilepsy. I got epilepsy when I was 11 yrs old and the dr was tough older, German man and he made sure I understood that as long as I took my meds I would be safe. SO when I ran out of meds thanks to other Drs I was scared. But I didn't let that stop me from living. Life is about living and I am going to enjoy my life to the fullest even with epilepsy. SO I looked at alternatives such as homeopathy and than finally adding the Gard diet so I can get off the last tab of mysoline.
Its nice meeting you and I am looking forward to getting to know you better

I got my first grand mal in 7th grade after lunch ,I was talking to my best friend and had a seizure. They called my parents and they came and got me and I first went to the GP than a
nuero for an eeg. I was put on dilantin but had a allergic reaction. Was swithced to zarontion and mesantion.

When I was 25 I started to use acupuncture for the side effects I had from depkeine. But
I never believed I could get off all my meds . I never heard of nuerofeedback,or homeopathy , diet for epilepsy.

BUT AGING HAS IT ADVANATAGES , YOU BECOME ALITTLE BIT MORE OPEN MINDED AND WILLING TO TRY NEW THINGS.
