I had the same sticker shock when I was prescribed Lamictal. I had been on Dilantin, which was $20.00 a month. I went to the drugstore to pick up my Lamictal scrip, and it was $1000. I nearly fainted. I had to completely change my health insurance in order to bring the price down.

There's some info here that should help:

My doctor tried putting me on lamectal and after a free months supply seemed to be helping more than the generic. I too found the same at $960. or $16. per tablet. I just walked out of the pharmacy after the shock. I wonder who is making all the money and what doctor could would see any patient being able to afford........
