5-7-5 Haiku

Honestly, I don't understand most of the rules for traditional Japanese Haiku. But I enjoy writing the 5-7-5 syllable poems to express an idea:
Quote :
I write poetry,
the simple beauty of a
haiku is torture
Care to give it a try?
Quote :
How do you Haiku?
Try playing Tetris with words;
contortionists rule!
Here's some that I posted at the Epilepsy Foundation's eCommunity forums:
Quote :
Having seizures sucks
I choose to be proactive
I search for a cure

~~~~~~~~~~
I face the unknown
and embrace the path I choose
I do not fear life
~~~~~~~~~~

Party animals,
dance to their own silent song
screaming rage inside.

~~~~~~~~~~
Mind, body, spirit,
an integrated system
with stress relief valve?
~~~~~~~~~~

The liver complains
while the brain stays sedated,
riding the storm's edge

~~~~~~~~~~
Gray fog surrounds me,
clouding my every thought.
When will the sun shine?
~~~~~~~~~~

Storm clouds stay at bay,
sitting on the horizon
of seizure thresholds

~~~~~~~~~~
good, exciting news
disturbs equilibrium;
stress has many forms
~~~~~~~~~~

Politics coined
"a thousand points of light", but,
different meaning

~~~~~~~~~~
The grand mal train chugs
crashing into brain station
on circular track
~~~~~~~~~~

brain cooked last night
dreaming in an endless loop
fever casualty

~~~~~~~~~~
cook-in successful
no one enjoys the main course;
uninvited guests
Hey! They can't all be winners!
Excellent Spacedoubt! Here's some more that I posted over at the EFA forums:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emotions erupt,
a volcano of stress flows;
circuit breaker pops

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We float down the stream
turbulent rapids toss us
where rocks block the flow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
unsettled psyche
discovered unpleasant truth;
system malfunctions
