Question Cervical sponderlitis

Hay! Is there any relation between cervical sponderlitis and E? Is it possible somehow that cervical sponderlitis aggravates E or is a trigger or something!

Cervical spondylosis (wear and tear of the disks in the neck) can cause tingling/numbness/weakness in the extremities, as well as lack of coordination/difficulty walking, abnormal reflexes/muscle spasms, and loss of bladder or bowel control. So it shares certain symptoms with epilepsy -- and could even be a differential diagnosis in the absence of a positive EEG.

If your seizures are triggered by neck pain or fatigue caused by cervical spondylosis, then it could play an aggravating role. Conversely, CS could be made worse by osteoarthritis related to calcium deficiencies caused by anti-epileptic drugs.

Consulted my doctor today and he prescribed the following medicines, i thought i should mention them here so that someothers like me can get little help:
1) Local heat therapy with towel dipped in hot water- sholder and neck (for spondylosis)
2)Capsule Evion 400 mg 1 od
3)Capsule Nervijen 1 bd
4)Tab Clonezepam (remember Niki about my bad dreams and all, he said my sudden jerks are the result of my improper sleep, so he gave this)

I just happened to come across this & thought of this thread. It more discusses maintenance/prevention than curing but it's worth a look.

Calcium, vitamin D and physical activity for healthy bones

Thanx Eric! I take my calciul supplements (Shalcal-500). ihave enough of milk and have a lot of vit D from the sunllight daily. Being a veterinarian the level of physical activity is also good. But still i am having problems. Hey Eric tell me one thing- Which test is to be done to know the calcium status of the body? Doctor said blood calcium levels can deceive and only the bone density test can suggest the true status. I am asking all this because i am having recurrent fractures. thanx Niki and Eric!

Your doctor is right -- blood calcium levels can deceive, since the body will always seek to maintain calcium levels in the blood, even if the your bones are crumbling away. Bone density tests are imperfect too, but if you suspect osteoporosis is causing your fractures it may show whether low bone calcium level is the cause.

Some of the osteoporosis meds can actually cause fractures too if used for longer than 5 years. See http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.c...porosis&st=cse
