Doing something good. Going for a long walk

Yesterday I was determined to get some exercise even if it means using a walker because of my poor balance. I started out in the cool of the morning determined to take a long walk. I Made It

It ended up I did pay a price. For some unusual reason a lot of the cement on the sidewalks were crawling with little ants. As it turned out they crawled on more than just the cement. Later that day I found my leg full of ant attracts.

Talk about hives and itch. Unfortunately last night in bed I kept scratching the and now have huge dark red welts which itch like heck and all of the surrounding area too.
It's hard to keep my fingers off but that just causes pain.

Does any one know what to do with the swelling and itch. I've tried ice several times but it hasn't helped.

So much for long walks. However determined to exercise, today I bought one of those foot pedal cycling machines.
I can even sit inside and watch TV while I exercise if I want. It tells you how long, how far, how fast etc. you are going. I did 25min. today.

No more ants but lots of excercie without my walker!

Back to my question does anyone know how to get rid of the welts,THE ITCH and the pain around them? I have already tried Benzedrine gel and cream, ice and tea tree oil. No luck so far.

You are all great people and I know that you care. Thanks so much for being here. lonnie
Oh by the way am I in the correct forum to share this thing?

Ants get bad around here when it rains a lot (like now with all the tropical storms coming in off the Gulf).

We use Calamine lotion on bites that are bad enough. You can also use some baking soda paste (or toothpaste) in a pinch.

I got really bad posion ivy a few weeks ago, and I'm still itching from it. The dr told me to use hydrocortozone (not sure if that's spelled right) loation. That helped me alot, the itching would stop until it was time to put more on. I was scratching so bad that I was actually getting blisters from scratching so much.

That has helped me alot.

I've heard that Aveeno works well. They have oatmeal products both in a bottle and in pouches. The bottle works the best in my opinion.
