drug addiction message board?

Does anyone know of a good drug addiction message board? People on here have suggested so many other boards that deal with other topics that have been very helpful for me.

There's a member of my family who was addicted to pain killers. He went for over a year and now I'm noticing the same things going on again when he was abusing them. I'm missing pain pills that were diagnosed for me. I don't want it to get worse. I need to know if there's somewhere that I can talk to people about this and see if I can get any advice and help from them.

Valerie,

First of all, bless your heart for dealing with all this with your brother. It is so hard.

I have a neice that has addiction issues. She's not as close as a brother would be and it's still screwing up my life in a big way (I think she is the one that stole my identity when she was here staying with me). What amazes me is how well addicts can lie and how sneaky they can be. Anyway....

I've heard that Al-Anon is a good in-person support group. It was created for families of alcoholics, but families of people with drug addictions go there, too. It's a 12 step program, which works well for some people and doesn't for others. One of the links below is a 12-step, too, but the others aren't.

I don't know the quality of these, but I found these support groups/forums online:
http://www.familiesanonymous.org/
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/ (scroll down on this one to "families")
http://www.way2hope.org/family-forum...p?showforum=27

If you are interested in other resources in your local area call 2-1-1 from your local phone. It's a program where they will hook you up with resources for free.

Hang in there. And remember that remission is a part of recovery. (easy to say, very hard to live with)

You could also try Drug Forum, its quite good it deals with safe drug use but also has addiction segments. All drug types are broken down in it,so there will be a painkiller section, remember not all addicts want to be addicts, hope everything works out.
