Well done Sandee on your voting record.I honestly believe that if you have a vote and cant be bothered to use it , you cant complain about who runs the country after the election.Just remember what our forefathers had to fight for to get that vote.Over here in britain our build up to an election never seems as dramatic as over in the states, but i enjoy watching whats happening on tv.As i said earlier may the best man win,and good luck to you all

I already voted early this morning. Though I am sure I will be up tonight until the results roll in. I guess I am one of those they say is addicted to the race. I will be careful with my E. Thanks for your concern.

I think the build-up has been more this year because the race seems to have gone on FOREVER and because there are so many serious issues facing our country. I too have voted every year since I first became eligible and voted in advance this year to avoid the long lines expected today.

To add some HUMOR what I've heard on Television:

Reporter: I hope I'm not being rude here with the question, but who did you vote for?
Other Reporter: Well that was a rude question, but I did vote XXXX (straight party ticket), to answer your rude question.
(Back in the news room - the Reporter had a embarrassed look on his face and was blushing)

Reporter: Why are you here to vote Sir?
Man: Oh hell, If I didn't vote, those danged commercials won't stop!

Reporter: We are now reporting that this XXXX State at this Precinct XXXX machines are malfunctioning and have been replaced with malfunctioning equipment so all is working well now and voters have resumed voting.

COME AGAIN???

Reporter: Good Morning, I can see you're at XXX (location) and how's the weather over there?
Reporter: Oh, it's horrible, bad, and raining.
(Weather map is showing in background - no rain, but there's rain going to be approaching within 2-3 hours)
Reporter: But we are seeing on the radar that you are going to have rain coming.
Reporter: Yeah, we're scheduled to have rain heading this way, that's why everyone's arriving early now to vote and the line's very long at this very moment.
(Commercial goes on the air)

Well I guess if you're going to lie, just be glad that the camera wasn't facing your image, for I'm sure your parents, family, friends, neighbors, and all that knows you would have had disgraced you!

Reporter: For a limited time only at this XXXX, at (State), they can buy Obama O's and Cap'n McCain Cereal boxes
(holding up both boxes up for viewers to few)
Other Reporter: I want one.
Reporter: Sorry, they're sold out.
Other Reporter: :::: sulks :::: (in front of camera)

HEY! I want one too - both of them! No Fair!

Reporter: Ma'am, who did you vote for?
Woman: First, you tell me who did you vote for?
Reporter: I'm a Reporter, I ask questions so viewers can hear people's responses. So if you could give us an idea please Ma'am?
Woman: I'll tell you who I voted for when you tell me who you voted for first.
Reporter: I voted straight party and you?
Woman: I voted straight party too.
Reporter: Okay, straight party of which? Democrat or Republican?
Woman: When you tell me first, I'll tell you mine.
Reporter: I can't disclose that information.
Woman: Neither will I, it's my privilege and right, and I'm doing my civil duty as an American, voting with privacy!
Reporter: Back to you...
(Camera goes back to the Station where a team of Reporters are chuckling and laughing)

I think I want to vote for this Woman, is she going to run for the next electoral run? Has a lot of gutso to out-talk a Reporter!

I went to vote in the early election. I don't know why they didn't start that years ago. Sadly, I missed out voting in several elections as the first year being a single mom, I had to take the baby and his three year old brother, we couldn't go until after I got off work and we were waiting for hours. Until the kids got old enough to stay alone, voting was not an option for me. NOW they have early voting!
I thought I would go on the Saturday and be there when they opened at 7 am...little did I know there would be 75-100 people ahead of me with the same thought. The problem came when they herded us (yes, just like cattle) into a very small room....the closed-in feeling got me all upset and thought I would have to leave...but I knew it would be my only chance....so I just closed my eyes and kept fanning myself to get thru. I don't think in the future I would have done that, but this election is very upsetting to me...if it turns out badly, maybe I can join our friend across the pond. I have really been stressing over this election...when I feel stressed, I pray. I think I have prayed over a hundred times so far!

I voted early, too. I told my friends about a new early voting location that had no lines. A friend of mine went and found the door unlocked with no-one inside. I wonder if they had to throw out that centers returns, and for which day? Makes it tough when you live in a state like this, and bad things like this happen.
I hear that on your side 'of the pond', election campaigning is only six weeks long and doesn't have as much bs involved.
Also that lawyers only have one hundred days to prepare a trial for a hearing. Are you taking citizenship applications?
