Good night, Vapour, I cought your cold. With me its been the extreemly strong coughing spells that just come on and rack you with seering, burning chest pain both front and back with every cough. Otherwise, I've felt OK which is pretty good. But that cough! I know its silly, but I've gotten afraid to sleep in my bed lying down and have to sleep in a chair propped up to avoid that cough and that seering burn. That burn feels like a skinned knee feeling, only in my chest. Wow! It hurts. I sure hope this stops soon. I haven't had such a burning cough since that chlorx-vinigar episode (remember that? I sure do!!). They say a cold lasts seven days if you treat it and a week if you don't. I sure hope this week goes by real fast! I hope you get better soon too, Vapour. I think I'll go make a cup of hot chocolatte. That's bound to help. right?

Chatter-box, I am really worried about you. Did you know that the H1N1 flu can put a hole in your lung. Go to the ER ASAP. It is going to get worse. I care about you. Let me know how you are doing.

Unfortunatly I am not much better at all. I did start anti-biotics a few days ago.... but now coughing up mucas is deep in my lung (right lung) I can hear it gurgling.

Dont really know what to do. I was given the anti-biotics by a friend actually, and at this point I dont trust doctors to touch me with a 50ft barge pole. The only dr I trust is my epileptologist.

Ill wait a few more days.........the head cold has clearedup, its just in my lung. The last thing I want is a chest x-ray, I really have no desire to see what is in there.

Still not in a good mood from a few days ago... off to the padded room now to rant...

Have you

tried something like Mucinex or similar to loosen that junk in your chest? How about turning on a hot shower, and standing in the bathroom in the steam? A vaporizer?? Some Vicks on your chest?? Just some ideas.........

Hi Vapour, anti biotics do not work on viruses. They only work on bacterial infections.

It sound like you and Chatter-Box have the H1N1 flu. Coughing is the main symptom. I highly recommend that both of you call your doctor or go to the ER.

It is best to be tested!! If you do not have the H1N1, there is probably something they can give you to clear it up

I really care and I am concerned about you.

Meetz cares about you too. If you do not want to go to a doctor, Vick's works. Maybe you can try her suggestion first.
