Hi-ho, hi-ho it off to the ER we go...

Just got home from the ER.

My son has a broken arm, possible nerve damage and a very sore shoulder and back. He works for a security company. Circle K (convenience store chain) utilizes his company and the store he was working at tonight is right on the Las Vegas strip near the Sahara.

He ran off some homeless bastard who was panhandeling. Dude came back and was waiting for him with a pipe to bash his brains in. My son managed to deflect the first blow with his night stick, dude swung again and hit him on the forearm, my son peppersprayed homeless wonder but dude tried to swing again, this time my son drew his weapon.

Dude took one look down the barrel and took off. Thank God! He did have to shoot and my son wasn't hurt worse. His got a nice gash on top of the break so they don't want to cast it just yet.

Guess who won't be working for a few weeks.

He's a very lucky young man.

The homeless have become very aggressive lately. They are very possessive about the areas where they panhandle. My guess is that the meth problem isn't helping matters very much. This particular store has ALL the crazies, and lots of tourists. 6 months ago some guy committed suicide with a gas pump after losing all his money at a casino. The scorch marks are still on the concrete slab.

Word of advice : NEVER give money to panhandlers. It creates bigger problems.

Stay tuned, there will be something else happening soon... this shit never ends in my house.

It was after 5 am when we got to bed. He's still sleeping but has to go do paperwork at the office. Even before they wrapped his arm it was a lovely shade of purple, I can only imaging how it looks now.

Metro will most likely become more visible now that these homeless slimeballs are getting more aggressive.

I'll relay the well wish to him.

No way! The boss came and got him this afternoon. Manditory piss test and to see the company doctor. He took pictures of his arm when they took off the wraps. His night stick where he defended himself left a very long bruise.

Man, if homeless wonder had conked him on the melon like he tried to do, he would have been scooping his brains off the sidewalk.

I wish he was in a safer job,.... but then, that's a mother's perrogitive mother.

I hate that! Those stupid ##&$##%!
Pee Tests and Blood work tests are
getting to be absurd, especially when
a customer or outside source attacks
the employee(s)

My son underwent that several years
ago when a customer plowed into him
and injured him. They sent him to the
Company Practioneer, and I wanted him
in the ER and they refused, "Company
Policy" they informed both of us.

Arm is swollen and deep purple. I think if someone beat me with a pipe like he was, I'd be a mental wreck! Well, he'll be home for several days, bugging the hell out of me.

Anyone want to help me think of some one armed chores for him to do? LOL!

That long purple bruse is where he held his nightstick. If he had not had that steel shaft there, can you imagine the new bend in his arm? Homeless wonder actually hit him in 3 or 4 places. He got it across the knuckles and at least twice on the fore arm. The gash is still oozing a little but I think it's from all the swelling, as there is no sign of infection.

My poor baby!

My son is getting an award! And the boss was hinting at a promotion (better be more too ! )

"Using proper judgement in meeting force with force in an use-of-force incident"

I know Metro was impressed by his actions and submitted the report to the big cheeses! Plus the fact that he didn't have to actually shoot the bastard.

I am so proud!

BTW His arm is much better, a second set of x-rays says no break. His elbow and shoulder has lots of brusing too but he doesn't remember being hit there, just remembers his forearm taking the blows.
