Talking I'm an addict! *blush*

I have BOTH Hanukkah and Christmas Items
up! And my neighbors already are trying to
figure out what my "Theme" is for this year!
(Like I'm going to tell them).

While I do collect collectibles, I look for very
unusual and unique items. Such as what
Borders Bookstores have out right now as
a Limited Edition for 2007.

It's so ugly that it's cute!

Once they're gone ... they're gone.
(They also have Blue, but it didn't
look right.)

I'm GUILTY AS CHARGED! But at least my
Power Co would like for me to run my
display 7 days a week and not just on the
weekends though!

I can't afford that!

As for my family and relatives throughout
the years - they think I'm !

Steve, my son, he's an addict too (I've
got a convert!)

My ex-husband at first balked at it, but
he grew to loving it. Unfortunately we did
have some displays a couple times in the
past that had been stolen! Including the old
Rudolph (1960s Era) and The Entire Nativity
Scene (1950s Era) - both which a neighbor
gave to us when they downsized and moved
into a condo. We miss those very much (for
those were the ones that had lightbulbs inside
of them). So trust us, we had a lot of extension
cords all over the place.

Red face

Husband is upstairs right now "doing" trees ~sigh~. He's simply sick about being 13 days late getting them all up this year .... he always has them on display by Nov. 1 and this year he's late.
All my fault.

I already have my tree up, lights up, everything
inside up .. except outside lights! I have some
outside stuff out. But it was hard!

Very fortunate to get a artificial tree, since they
just don't make Rocky Mountain Blue Spruces
anymore (the one I had was 9 years old, 7.5' tall
x 5.85' girth; but the base was plastic; and the
stand was special and it broke @ 6 years of age
and I repaired it and got 3 more years of life
until last year - it was "the end". Not even a
real tree stand would work on it - I borrowed
my neighbor's real tree stand to see if it'll work
before I brought one and tried to come up with
ways and ideas to salvage it; not salvageable,
so it's beautifying a landfill somewhere, as of last
year!). So my neighbor informed me that Wally
World (she's from the mid-West but we call it
Wal*Mart) had last year's stock for half-price,
first come, first served and for me to hurry!

So my tenant agreed to take me down there
yesterday as he needed some stuff there anyway.
And boy I was lucky! I got the last 7.5' Douglas
Fir (no lights - just the way I wanted it) where
all the branches are removable (PERFECT!). I can
make a fake tree look so real, because I make
them have holes in them like a real tree does,
and there's no "such thing" as a perfectly straight
tree anyway. (People used to compliment and
ask me where I purchased the Blue Spruce as
they thought it was real; I use oil fragrance so
it has a real tree smell.)

I managed to get this one even cheaper, because
it was an opened box!

That dude did that about 2 years ago. It was such a pain in the butt to the neighborhood (ie traffic problems) that he shut it down before xmas.

HA! We just placed 4th in our neighborhood decorating contest! Won $50 and a ham! YUM! Between the accident, surgery, adoption, and broke tooth I didn't have time to put out all my junk.

Now how cool is that?

I have found some FANTASTIC home light displays. There are so many to watch I just picked a few of the best. All you have to do is use Yahoo Video search or Youtube and type in the name of your favorite Christmas song + lights!

Sorry to drive you nuts with these but I just love them and appreciate all the work involved.

As usual....
