So how's everybody's Christmas been ?

Seizure-wise, mine has been pretty darn good. I had a 'uh-oh' moment in bed on Christmas Eve when I couldn't get off to sleep, and had that thought that I might be on the verge of having a seizure, but luckily nothing came off it. I did have a drink (only one can) that night, and I think with the tiredness too, it wasn't a very wise thing for me to do.....the sugar in the drink kinda backfires on me as I'm trying to get asleep, but my eyes are wide open....you think I'd have learnt by now !

Apart from that, I think I've done really well. I usually DO get the Christmas Eve hiccup, which then spoils my Christmas Day by making me real tired, but I swear it's all in my mind.

Oh, and the fact that I went to the gym Today to try and get rid off the Christmas Pud, and came out with a bruised middle finger on my left-hand. Oh, how I enjoy showing people that bruise . It happened when I moved the dumbells along the rack, my hand slightly slipped on the shiny rubber surface of the dumbell, and got caught between that one and another - they were both over 30kg's too !

All sympathy welcome

Rebecca has been doing really well. In fact she asked me today when her last seizure was. She said it felt it has been "like forever".

She did have a bad headache (I would say migraine type yesterday), but I do have my suspicions that it was due to high sugar content, and she was offered and accepted a glass of coke. I said use that as gut-brain info.

Thank you, TT - Glad to hear yours was peaceful. Yours also Robin.

Mine was peaceful and quiet. It was the first Christmas in my life spent "home alone", but it was just like I planned.

I'm not sure I posted, but I wanted to be sure I had wished everyone a very happy and healthy holiday season.

We do all the holidays here. Its a good thing/bad thing lol I love having everyone BUT the work oiy... It is worth it. I guess this year was especially hard as my daughter started with issues this year as well. We had 26 for dinner. It went smooth and everyone had a nice time. I really NEEDED to see everyone, as its been a long few months for me and it just makes me feel better. Proabably a momentary distraction. I don't share much outside my cyber groups, kids and husband as I'm not really good at hearing .. well IF you prayed more your kids would be fine or so will they live with you forever?? WOW that's alot of meds for a kid. I'm just not in the headset to accept any negativity graciously : ) and I'm a bit rambunctious to begin with.

This holiday maybe more than others made me realize the important thing and for me that is that we are together, happy and as healthy as we can be. Its not about things or possession as they come and go. Its about the time we have together and the things we do when together. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others*

I wish everyone well.

My favorite movie was always It's A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. Any way, this year was the first year I had no money. I was in the H, a week before Christmas. And I had been having uncontrolled seizures. Well, I got out of the Hospital feeling much better, I had no money to pay the electric bill, or gifts for my son. Well my whole family got together and got my bill paid and on Christmas eve brought over tons of gifts for me and my son. I had a tree and a few gifts. But I felt like Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful life when he was about to jump off that bridge and everybody who loved him brought what he needed. I just wanted a Christmas for my son. And my family made it happen. Thanks Mom.Thank-you Greg and Brad. You are the best family anyone could have.Thank you for your love. Teresa

It's awesome to hear so many have made it through the holidays with no seizure events. Stacy has also done well with no seizure activity.

One more week until the kids are back to school.

Edit: I merged two threads on the same subject together to remove clutter in the forum list.

My dog, on the other hand, is totally exhausted. She's taking a long nap today, even through our breakfast. And food is a high priority. She didn't get her usual amount of daytime naps with all the company we had yesterday.

Now that it's lunchtime, maybe I should try to lure her out of her deep sleep with food.

Here ya go speb's - I'm justing holding it up so you can see it - it's bruised on the left hand side of the nail, and follow's around to the front.

Still, I've soldiered on, through thick and thin, even doing another session down the gym Today.....

....did get some strange looks though when I showed people my 'bruise'....well, they were on the other side off the gym
