I'm a first time aunty!

Baby Owen James *insert my last name* was born on Monday, only found out today though. 7lb 3oz, and soooo cute!
Can't believe my big brother is a dad though! And mum and dad are now Granny and Granda lol. Wheeeeee!

I so want to post all over Facebook about this, but unfortunately my brother has neglected to tell his current girlfriend that the baby is actually born >.<

Thanks! Me and my mum are going shopping tomorrow to get some bits and pieces, perhaps some cute outfits, nappies (diapers) etc. I can't wait to meet him properly, but its going to be at least Friday for me

Yup, I get to spoil him, babysit him, take him for walks, dress him as a cute lil pumpkin for Halloween, and then give him back to mum and dad lol.

Congratulations Aunty!!! My brother and his wife recently welcomed a baby boy as well, Quade Michael. Being an aunty is so much fun, you get to spoil them rotten and then hand them back when they are grumpy...or smelly...

Hehehe

yes, aunthood IS great, isn't it? I have quite a few of them... those little (OK, they range from 30 years down to uh, 9 months, I THINK. I've lost track.) or NOT so little ones. I LOVE handing them back when they're ornery AND smelly.

Went and got some cute little outfits today and some supplies of nappies and stuff. I don't get to actually see the wee man til tomorrow though, cos the visiting times at the hospital are when I'm working

A handful of my nieces and nephews (I have ten) are at the ages when they are graduating from high school -- one every year. Those graduation gifts are starting to add up! But I love the kids so much. This year two are graduating and I'm sad because I don't think I can make it to both graduations.

Lou,

Congrats on the arrival of your little nephew.

The 1st neice/nephew is always very exciting lol. I have 8 nephews & 2 neices ranging from ages almost 18 - 4. I live too far away from my nephews/neices so don't get to see them to often .

Oh, Lou, what wonderful news!

I believe this will be the most spoiled child in history. He's one day old and you are already showering him with gifts.

Congratulations -- now you get all the fun of motherhood without any of the responsibilities!

I'm pretty old at nearly 25 to become an aunty, especially in a family as big as ours. I can't wait to get a pic of him in his Thumper (from Bambi) romper suit and hat i got him :P It's a bit big for him yet though.

His mum picked the orange hat and gloves for him. It's the colour of our local football (soccer) team. I said that's fine so long as i can get him an Ireland rugby strip lol.

Okay. I plead ignorance. What's an Ireland Rugby Strip? Is that something he ties around his head or something??? Does it make a bow on his rattle? Is it a ribbon of some sort???

A football/rugby strip is the shirt, socks, shorts etc that the team wears when they're playing
