Hey corsch, the neurologist is working for you. If you don't want to switch off keppra, that's your choice to make. As to your license -- is it something that the state DMV also knows about or is it up to the neurologist's discretion? In my state, you have to be 6 months seizure-free regardless of what the doc says. On the other hand, the neurologist doesn't have to report it to the state, so it's somewhat on the honor system.
Don't be scared about the MRI -- it really is just a standard test they run with epilepsy. The "damage" could just be a tiny scar/lesion from a injury, or it could be nothing. Nothing showed up on my MRI. (And by nothing, I mean they did find a brain, but nothing that would suggest a cause for my seizures

) Talk to your neurologist and let him know how worried you are and he can give you a sense of what they might find.
Let us know how the appointment goes on Tuesday.
