I'm kinda nervous.

I have an appt with my neurologist to get an MRI and just a general follow up on Tuesday. They said the MRI is to check for tumors / potential damage or something like that and I'm nervous. I know I probably dont have a tumor but the damage is the thing that scares me. I'm also kinda worried that if I tell him the side effects from the keppra, he'll switch me. I don't wanna have to switch meds because that means I'd have to put my license on hold (June 3rd!).

I kinda wanna bring up my license and see if I can get it back a little early. Think he'd go for that?

Hey corsch, the neurologist is working for you. If you don't want to switch off keppra, that's your choice to make. As to your license -- is it something that the state DMV also knows about or is it up to the neurologist's discretion? In my state, you have to be 6 months seizure-free regardless of what the doc says. On the other hand, the neurologist doesn't have to report it to the state, so it's somewhat on the honor system.

Don't be scared about the MRI -- it really is just a standard test they run with epilepsy. The "damage" could just be a tiny scar/lesion from a injury, or it could be nothing. Nothing showed up on my MRI. (And by nothing, I mean they did find a brain, but nothing that would suggest a cause for my seizures ) Talk to your neurologist and let him know how worried you are and he can give you a sense of what they might find.

Let us know how the appointment goes on Tuesday.

I'm in a state that doesn't require the neurologist to report it to the DMV so maybe that'll work for me. I'm sure everything will be fine but there's always that thought in the back of my mind. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for there reassurance.
