Just a quick question...

I know my meds are taking all my nutrients from my body and has completly taken away my appetite. Is there any such thing as a good vitamin for someone to take, or am I unhealthy until death?

Depends on what you mean by a "good vitamin"!

Calcium and vitamin D (often in combo with magnesium) can be important to replace calcium drained by some of the anti-epileptic drugs. Vitamin E is also often depleted by anti-epileptic drugs and worth replacing with a supplement. In general a B-complex vitamin is neuroprotective, and in particular b12 can be good for blood health and b6 can help with side effects of keppra. Folic acid is often affected by anti-epileptic drugs and is especially important to take if you are considering having kids. Omega3s, often found in flax and fish oil supplements are very good for the brain. Manganese and selenium can also potentially play a role in seizure control. Some studies have found that taurine can help with partial seizures, especially ones that have not responded to anti-epileptic drugs... so you see there can be some good vitamins. Remember to check with your doc before taking a supplement.

How about vitamin drinks like Ensure? Is your appetite big enough to drink drinks that contain vitamins?
