Last chance for a credit cardIt starts out with a recorded message telling me that info and to hold for someone. When I finally stayed on the line to talk to a person and tell them to quit calling me he kept asking me for my name, when I wouldn't give it to him he hung up on me. I've done this several times now. I'm on the do not call list, I've checked and I am still registered with them. I go to the web site and write down the number they called from to report them, but they call from a different number every time. When I won't answer their questions and tell them to stop calling me they just hang up on me. I was getting calls on my cell phone not to long ago to go back to school. I kept telling them that I wasn't intrested and to stop calling me. Finally I go so mad that I told the lady off who I was talking to. We got into a huge fight on the phone with each other. I haven't gotten a call since from them since. How can I make these calls stop???? |

| I think a lot of those types of calls are scams so be very careful. I don't know if there is a 'do not call' list in Australia and how I would get on it, but I'm pretty rude to those people who call and flat out refuse whatever they want to offer maybe, they've given up. I haven't had a call in ages Maybe if the company is legit, ring and make a complaint. I think often the call operators income depends on how many people they can successfully sell to, so they can be pretty vicious and sneaky. |

https://www.donotcall.gov.au/ I registered about a year ago, as someone was repeatedly calling my mobile (cell) number. Both of my phone numbers are unlisted, so I rarely receive marketing calls, but by registering on this site, the annoying calls stopped dead (after well over 200 of them from one number). I remember a scam in Australia that if you stayed on the line, you were charged back for the call, so watch your phone bill, Valerie... If you have caller ID, you can check the number here: http://whocallsme.com/ ETA: This is the Australian site for reverse number checking: http://www.reversephonesearch.com.au/

| I never give these people who are calling any information about myself, even my name. If they won't tell me who they are then I'm not going to tell them who I am either. If I get another call then I am going to call the phone company and see if they can do anything about it. I've also been getting calls for the last 7 years now from collection agencys for a guy that had our phone before us. This guy must owe alot of money if it's been going on for 7 years now! |
