Hi Guys
I don't know if a lot of you follow soccer, but my team Liverpool are I feel worse for my health than my recent spate of seizures!
For the first time in my lifetime we are in the relagation zone :( add the fact our best players want out and there is turmoil behind the scenes with our owners Mr Tom Hicks and George Gillet refusing to leave and stacking up our already sky high debt. Then throw in to the mix dwindling support, protest by fans the future does not look bright for the once all ruling Red Men!
So I thinki may be needing a heart surgeon pretty soon as well as my current specialist!
I know the percentage of you guys on this site are American so if you would like to suggest a sport to me and are willing to explain the rules I may be willing to adopt your team as my own

Well I would have suggested that your root for the Boston Red Sox, but sadly they are out of contention for the World Series this year...

The Liverpool/Blackpool game is all that i've heard about lately *dies* Doesn't help that at work, every tv in the place was turned on to it!

I'm a rugby union person myself (The Irish international team of course!)

Sorry to hear about your recent seizures also

If you like baseball - root for the Cincinnati Reds! A team without any superstars and a low payroll making the playoffs.

Switch to american football for a good sport. It is supposed to be getting more coverage in Europe. Great game once you understand it. The college level football brings out all of our fanatics - (Ohio State Buckeyes Fan)

Hi I am sorry to hear that liverpool not doing very well is making you feel terrible I am sure they will be back to being great soon just hopefully not berore they play us at home xx my brother is a lifetime supporter and i know he is very upsett

Hey! It looks like the Red Sox have put in a bid to by Liverpool! So now you'll have to root for both teams...

That reminds me of the British comedy "Keeping up Appearances" when a husband and wife are discussing an awful secret that the wife had withheld until after they were married. The awful secret? She was a lifelong Liverpool supporter:D

Anyway, sorry things aren't going well for your team. If you're looking for another team to support, might I suggest the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team! (I was never big on basketball before. It's kind of the opposite of soccer: in soccer teams run up and down the field (pitch?) and end up with a score of 1-0, in basketball teams run up and down the court and end up with a score of 101-100...argh!!! frustrating:lol:) But the Thunder made the playoffs in just one season in the NBA without any big stars and gave the perennial top dogs the LA Lakers a run for their money! It was awesome!

Well it looks like the Boston Red Sox will be the new owners!

O well mate, i live in the same city as you but i am a true blue nose. Things dont seem to be going to well for both teams so i am really looking forward to the derby match next week. whoever wins that game will definately be on cloud nine. Dont get too stressed out because i know what stress does to my seizures. Come on you blues!

Cheers bluelammy you aint wrong about next week mate! I personally would take a draw next week we have just got off to the start from hell I don't think Roy is the man for us we should have brought King Kenny back or tried to tempt Moyes from you lot ;)

Thanks to evryone for your input I am gonna love the Reds until my dying day but I am also going to take on Basketball and American football I don't want to glory hunt and go for the best teams so I am going toview both and take my time. I did catch the end of your Basketball season and think I may go with the Celtics.
Loopylou I actually follow the Republic of Ireland in the football due to my Grandparents being Irish also I would sooner watch paint dry than 90 mins of England :) I will also have a go at the Rugby as they say variety is the spice of life

I'm a Gunners (arsenal) fan myself ... sorry mate ...but liverpool suck this year and are in their rightful place at the bottom of the table. it seems that fernando torres lost his skill along with his hair ( perhaps a distant relation to samson). Better luck next season ... in the coca cola league. Maybe drogba stole torres' talent .. he seems to score more goals than i do playing video game football.

drarvindr Ihonestly wish I could argue about one of your statements there but I would be lying to myself if I tried to do that! Hopefully this new owner we have on the brink of buying us now will plough in cash and we will somehow save our season, also on the Gunners support you are a very exciting team to watch so I cannot even say anything about your team :(

Wahey a Liverpool thread. New owners look good but still a long way to go. Do not like Roy Hodgsons tactics if im honest but we'll just have to wait a see if he stays or goes. That win against Sunderland on the weekend was his first away win in 67 games. A scrappy one at that too. If he keeps the winning going i cant really complain.

Everton

We (Sunderland) were beating em 2-1 last night - then as usual gave a stupid goal away They were lucky!!

I'm a huge Reds fan. I went to Old Trafford in 2004 to see them play United, it was fantastic. I got the tickets from the Man U supporters club of Canada, so I had to sit in with the home crowd.

I got a lot of dirty looks when Liverpool scored and I went nuts. I'm surprised I made it out alive.. I just pretended ignorance because I'm a 'hockey loving Canuck'. It seemed to work.

They're not looking too good this year. It might take a while but I think Hodgson's the right man for the job. Patience is the key, but that's lacking in pro sports nowadays.

What concerns me most is the lack of talent coming out of the academy. There's been nobody since Owen and Gerrard. But young Kelly looks promising.

Liverpool v Sunderland

Oh he'll fire Scouser - Are we still gonna be speaking after the weekend?! Don't know exactly where you are but will U be @ the match? I'm a Sunderland shareholder & lifelong supporter - plus we have Stevie Bruce in the next village who sometimes gives a lift to the match & is a laugh a minute!

Agree - the main problems lie not on the pitch but with Mr Gillette & his cohorts. You can't be a Director & not a footy fan. Too many folk are looking at a club merely to make a fast buck. It's happened @ Man U with the Glazers - & even @ Man U with the Saudi Royal Family.
The danger @ Liverpool is, if push comes to shove, the first people out of the door will be the likes of Gerrard, Carragher, etc. And you can't blame them really. But even we are struggling to hold on to our younsters because the potential is being seen and theyr'e being enticed away.
The only thing that'll take Hodgson away from you is his heart - Fulham almost killed the man!

Take Care
Col.
