In Loving Memory

Daddy died one year ago today. Mamma followed him 3 1/2 months later. The world is a darker place without them, I miss them so.

Thank you Bernard. It was especially hard considering they way things went for him in his last days. Before he died, Daddy wrote about his military experiance and it was amazing and rich and full.

When things quiet down a bit, I am creating a web page in his honor. I have been slowly compiling pieces of information and he had some wonderful photos and stories.

Sure do miss his cornball jokes, and infectious smile.

There is something about old men and old jokes

They just go together.

He loved to get people laughing at funerals. He'd come up to you and get close and you think he was going to tell you some juicy tidbit about the deceased, but then he's tell you the dumbest joke then break out in a hugh grin and you couldn't help but snicker. Once you begin a snicker at a funeral, you've lost it.

The last thing he said was a joke too. The nurse was listening to his bowels and comments that there was a lot of air. He said, "Yeah, and it's probably all hot!"

We burried him April 1st. Fools Day. He would have been tickled to know that.
