Talking Me ... Bragging AGAIN

October 10 .... big day for me.
Well, a big day in my life is hard to find.

Oct 10, 2005, was the first big testing episode, long drive to hospital - PET, long, long MRI then getting taped uo and put to bed for a video EEG.

What REALLY counts is I did not smoke that day. For over 20 years I'd been a very heavy smoker - at least 3 packs a day - and I loved every cigarette. I was a dedicated, happy smoker.

But I lived through the video EEG so I haven't had a cigarette since then.

Keep it up and stay smoke free.

That can only lead to good things.

That's wonderful Nancy! I know your family is happy about your milestone too!

I would give anything if my mom would quit. She is, like you were, a happy three-pack-a-dayer (for over 30 years). Maybe I shouldn't give up hope yet...

I am truly proud of you!
I'll be looking forward to seeing next year's brag!

Way to go!

My neighbors are chain smokers. We can smell the smoke when they just open their front door. I honestly feel really sorry for their dog.

I had a teacher bring a cigarette into class (when it was allowed in school for him). He blew a puff of smoke into a white tissue and it had a disgusting yellow mark from just one cigarette.

Frankly, I am SO glad they passed laws in PA to no longer allow smoking in public places.

Thank you all .... ..... It's been a l-o-n-g three years.

Good grief, I've had two brain surgeries and one breast surgery, my mother has moved away, my dad has died, my special neurologist is gone, my carving ability is gone (? I'm trying)
my marriage is over, but I can't think of a thing that a cigarette would have fixed.

jgbmartin - I used the sticky nicotine patches for (I think) 37 days. The hospital slapped them on me during the video EEG and I bought them when I got home. I consider them miracle items.
But for me - the real miracle "drugs" were prayers.
