It's great that you finally figured this one out. I know they have tests for carpel tunnel syndrome where they test how quickly a mild electrical charge runs down an arm. It could be that as well. Basically, nerves in an arm tighten around nerve bundles and numbness or pain can be a result. They do surgery for that as well.
