O.k...I'm a little nutty, but I'm FUNI have these curtain valances on my wide window that have been hanging in my kitchen windows for about six months. Well, last month around the holidays, I realized that they didn't match (which stinks since the two different curtains are hanging on the same window). ![]() ![]() So last month I was in Wal-Mart doing Christmas returns, and I decided to take back my mismatched curtains. Well, the return line was long, and I didn't have the original packaging (six months later), and most importantly I didn't want to wait on a price check in those crowds. I left my hubby in line and went to find another curtain of the same type that she could scan. When I got to the Home Goods Section, there were none of my curtains left...just an empty shelf with the skew number on it that I needed. I had no pen or paper handy. So, I just took down the metal shelf and carried it to the return line! (which, by the way isn't easy, they really mount those suckers to the wall). ![]() You should have seen my husbands face as I came calmly walking through Wal-Mart and placed the shelf/hook system in our cart! ![]() But the icing on the cake was when it was finally our turn to return our items. The cashier simply looked at the shelf, shrugged, scanned it, looked at the long line, and said, "the nuts are really coming out today." ![]() Slightly embarrassed that I had dismantled Wal-Mart, I started to apologize. But the cashier said, "not necessary...you saved me a price check." "Besides that," she said, pointing her finger, "you see that woman over there??"..."She's in charge of putting back the returns, and I'm gonna love to hand her this one!" Hope I made you smile. -Julie

This story is priceless I would have L-O-V-E-D to see the look on the face of the woman at Wal-Mart, or even your husband for that matter.

| Thats funny. You sound like a real character Julie. I always joke that i can be a bit loopy. I think it's better to be loopy & have a sense of humor then be boring & have no sense of humor at all |

| Yep Robin, You may have seen me. I was the woman whose husband took the baby out of the cart, and walked away mumbling something about..."Lord, grant me the patience to cope with this woman, and the speed to get the hel* away from her before she gets up here with whatever it is she's ripped off a wall." ![]() You know what really gets to me though? My friends and family didn't tell me that I had TWO DIFFERENT curtains in that window! I confronted my mother about it, and she said, "Of course I noticed dear, but you always say I'm too critical of some things. I figured, if it didn't bother you...why should it bother me?" ..."and, besides, each curtain was equally pretty." ![]() Glad I made a few people smile. Love you guys. -Julie

| This one has a bit of a different take on humor. It's hospital-related and reflects on knowing how to break every rule in the book without getting caught! Normally, one is told that (s)he must get exercise while in the hospital, but they never tell you HOW to do it. While being assessed for neurosurgery nearly 20 years ago, I had to wait to get the call to go to the hospital. Upon my arrival, my attending neurologist was away from the hospital and wasn't notified. While I'm waiting for my neurosurgeon's arrival (which didn't come until AFTER I had been treated and discharged) the 2nd neurologic resident came with the head of the hospital (MNI) and had with him a new resident. Here's the humor: what is the likelihood of having a neurologic resident whose father is a prominent lawyer and with whose wife I attended classes at university having a patient from his own home town? Once I asked the resident his wife's name for confirmation, he told me that she was working for a CA firm in Montreal. Not only that, I mentioned to him about her delight at going to an auction and getting a sterling silver serving tray for a nominal sum. Having recuperated from this shock, the head of the hospital exclaimed in dismay, "How is it that from all parts of the world from where patients come, YOU (meaning me) wind up getting someone from your home town?? It's extremely rare that something like this would happen!! ![]() That's just the beginning, but I don't want to "hijack your thread. |
