Question about disability

Well I'm on the last step of disability determination I guess. And what a pain it has been. And I know it varies state by state. But anyways, this leads into my question. They said in order to determine whether I'm disabled or not, I need to go see their state appointed psychologist later on this month. What kind of tests are they possibly going to put me through? I mean, do they want me to seize in front of them. I honestly don't get it. I know I'm supposed to take my meds along with me, which I have a ton. But....it just seems ridiculous.

the one they sent me to asked nothing personal or specific-just administered a quick 15 min version of "look at this picture and then remember it--I guess it was for shorterm memory loss and some other tests--was there for less than half hour and then he was called a year later to give a deposition at my ss hearing--I was denied-guess you have to have immediate memory loss to qualify in addition to other things.Had an hour chat with my atty about my hearing next Monday and they will have his deposition in there--I argue its not recent enough but from my perspective-its about what your mental status is,not about your feelings and moods

I have not heard of this, especially this type of doctor. I have had them ask me to visit a specialist for certain type of medical equipment. I guess that it keeps people from getting unnecessary medical equipment that the state has to pay for.

Here in the uk in my city, they send you to see an appointed social security doctor and hes no specialist,he ses everyone from bad backs to lost limbs,he was more like a cop treating you as a suspect throwing question after question in the hope he will trip you up,i had to see these people once a year for three years, before they put me on disability indefinatly.

To be on Social Security (I don't know if this counts as disibility or not) but I had to take a vary of small tests. Some memory tests and aslo a test where I would look at pictures and tell the person giving me the test how the picture made me feel. There was one of a goofy guy that I started laughing at and just couldn't stop, they actually had to stop the test until I calmed down! I don't really remember what some of the other tests were, there goes the memory part, but they don't expect you to have a seizure right there infront of them.

I'd take a list of your meds and drs with you too just incase they would need to know them, and anything else that you might think would be important.
