| Coloured glasses? Is that why elton John wares those on stage? Anyone have trouble with supermarkets in the freezer isle? I do with the fluro lights and the deli lights in the hot food section. Also i cant stand supermarkets for the loud noises or the fact that the place is so white on the floor and i think that the effect of the lights on the white floor reflects like the sun on the water ya know. I ware sunglasses now, or i cover my side vision with my hand when i walk past something that makes me get that yucky feeling. Also i hate christmas. when the lights are flashing. the lights on still make me feel a little funny if they catch me on the side, esp police and emergency lights they set me off. i think it is worse for me if the light is behind me because it catches me on the sides of the eye, like camera flashes. is this what you call that photo thingy what ever it is. when it happens it may be the slightest flicker like the dim of a light or the dim of the electricity when a storm is on. is this that light epilepsy? ive always had a bad feeling around lights, even before i was diagnosed. i used to play in a band and the lights there on stage would make me feel in slow motion, spinning sort of, but i told myself that it wasnt real and just thought that it was a panick thing from the anxiety of ppl watching the band that i was in. it just makes me feel like my heart begins to race and i get that weird sensation that comes over me, is that an aura? i really am silly at these things and questions as i really only thought that my seizure was a grand mal, i just would and do shrug off the felings like they arent real and tell myself its just my imagination and just to forget about it and keep on doing what i am doing like automatic robot. then it will pass. also is this a seazure. pls let me know i am so i supposed unknowing of the other types that are seizures that i am feeling. i hope this makes sence sam |

| Hi Sam, those are good questions. I had never thought about Elton John's glasses as perhaps being a mask for photosensitivity, but it sounds plausible. From your description, it does sound like you might be photosensitive and experiencing auras. Your neurologist should be able to do some EEG testing with lights to confirm if you are experiencing epileptiform brain activity.

| Hi Bernard, Well when i have had the EEG's but the last one the light flash thing that they do for the initial thing before you go to your room while they get you all plugged in, did make me have a grand mal, the last time that i was going to hospital for a video EEG i didn't realise but when i came to there was a lot of people that came in looking at the computer. and When i saw the neurologist psychiatrist he said that i do have a very excited brain. Whatever that means. |
