I am in love with snakes. I find them so perceptive and each move they make is preplanned and deliberate. very smart reptiles.
I used to own a six foot long ball python. but when we moved he caught pneumonia and died.

Strange. I have a phobia of the actress, Dixie Carter's voice...

I am afraid of bees.

When I was about 5 I had one sting me on my back when I was swinging on my grandmother's swingset in her back yard. I was just having a fun afternoon and I wasn't even bothering the little fellow or at least I thought. Well, it ended up causing a huge welp on my back and I ran in the house crying and my grandmother had to take care of me for the rest of the afternoon so I never got over that to this day for some reason.

tam bam

Port-a-Pottys!

I can't stand them. I can't walk near one, I get the chills run up my spine. I'm doing it right now just thinking about them!

I'm not that great on spiders but I won't kill one. I always herd it was bad luck so if I see one I'm always using something to try to get it out the window or door!

I can watch myself get blood work and others as well. I can stick people with no problem. I can't see the site of my wife blood for some dumb reason.

I really don't like watching other people eat, lots of people aren't neat.

For the most part I can't think of any phobias. But I have had to stop in traffic once because a lady freaked out when there was a grass hopper or spider on her car and she hopped out f the car while in a turning lane .

After my first deployment I refused to go in one unless I had no other option. I would walk all the way back to the Cadillacs or my dorm room depending on the location I was at.

However, I don't consider either of those phobias.
Everyone should despise snakes and rats. They are despicable.
I'm gonna try not to be to over the top but needed to throw my in here! I understand not liking snakes and rats in the wild but no creature is despicable (except maybe humans from time to time). I rescued a baby corn snake from a decreped pet store that was feeding them rotten meat GRRRR
One of my favorite "friends" was a cream rat named Squish she was a loving intelegent friend wonderful animal who changed many peoples opions about the nature of rats.
Sorry bout going off Hate is always a sore subject no matter the topic

Your opinion is fine by me. I have a daughter who likes both of them as well. I personally don't care for them and was trying to be light hearted about them being despicable.

I wish to be clear on my usage of despise -vs- hate. To me hate is the worse 4 letter word. There is way too much hate in this world, most of it unjustified. That is one thing about animals, they don't hate. They may have aggressive instincts, but normal instincts - not hate.

Chad can't watch me get blood taken either. I think its something to do with someone you love, and seeing their blood. Which under ideal circumstances, should not be taken through a needle or IV.

I work with a woman *my controller* who was a military nurse, and she is not by any means afraid of blood. Infact, she sliced open the fleshy part between her thumb and index finger, and it didn't phase her. She just grabbed a roll of paper towel and got someone to drive her.
But when her little boy had a tree climbing accident and split his knee open. She fainted because her little boy was hurt.

Not a problem - almost always two sides to everything. When I found out my daughters snake had escaped, I couldn't even sit down in her apartment wthout looking all through her chair.

And beware of cosmetic ladies, painted like white clowns wanting to give you a make over! This is a long one but hysterical.

thank you! i had purfume sprayed on me that smelled like off bug spray, but stronger

the worst is those ladies at the booth in the mall who grab you when your walking by and start washing your hands or doing your nails. the one time, one of them didn't even tell me what she was doing, she just grabbed me, took off my nail polish, and did one nail and then walked away without saying a word.

there was also this cleaning product lady at my front door who tried to get us to buy the stuff because it's non toxic and then she sprays it on her hand and LICKS IT OFF to prove it. ewww
we used to have a problem with the verizon fios guys, until my cat (a little black cat) climbed on my dad's shoulder, puffed out her tail, and growled at the dude. that was a year ago and we haven't seen them since

we need a thread for stories like this lol

I'm afraid of frogs and grass hoppers. I'm afraid they will jump on me.
