Test.

I have a test on 11/5/08 for my asthma. I hope this test turns out OK. The test has me worried a little. I'm a little worried my asthma has gotten worse. This will be the second time I had this test. Has anyone ever been worried cause of a test? Maybe there's nothing to be worried about. I hope there isn't anything to be worried about. I'll keep you guys updated.

Well it's only 'natural' for "us" human beings to worry
about things, because it's our nature. Just like a Mama
who would worry about her children, it's natural. But
you can compensate for it by not focusing your attention
on it so much and redirect it on something else, and
keeping your mind occupied on being busy. So by working
on a puzzle, game, or simply doing house cleaning chore;
just keeping busy with your mind focus on a task will
keep your mind from wandering off on the test/issue
worries. I find it very helpful if I just put the schedule
date down and "forget about it" and not pay so much
attention to it (unless they've given me specific instructions
to do before the test the day before, or night before, etc).

This way, we don't become such a "worry-warts".

Like I often put emphasis when I talk to people off line
in person who's worrying about this, worrying about that;
when in reality some of these things are "small things"
and they were making "mountains out of molehills". So by
refocusing on something else, you don't tend to worry
so much or worry less and it doesn't consume your life
or raise/elevate your fears. And the chances are, after all
the tests are completed it's not going to all come out as
you've spent all your time worrying about it.

After all - IT IS your Doctor's job to worry about your
health, the Insurance and you are paying them!

Hawke, For some unknown reasons, I get all worried and anxious every time I have some type of upcoming test or appointment scheduled. Like Brain said, I think it all just comes naturally. Try to keep your mind busy and before you know it, it will be over. Good luck & keep us posted.

Wink

Stay Calm about the test Hawke. Asthma testa are generally pretty easy to undergo. They won't push you too hard.

And don't worry about the results either. That won't change them. They will be what they will be and that is usually better than not knowing.

Take care and try to relax.
