| That's great Hawke. Rebecca and I both volunteer. She likes to work at a Historical Museum and I like to make things for different organizations. Right now I knit squares that are made into blankets for the elderly. I also make baby blankets, and we both have made kitty toys for the humane society. What do you do at the Hospital? This is a very good topic Hawke. Thanks for thinking of it. |

| That is a very honorable job to do. I am sure they are appreciative of the reminders. I know I am always happy to get a reminder. |

I haven't done any in a while.....But, I used to be a Girl Scout Leader, and Organizer for 7 years. WHEW!! That wore me out. I also still work with a Boy Scout troop on occasion. Not very often, though. I just don't have time between all of my jobs...... Mind you, I'm counting writing my books as a job, and mystery shopping, too......Last edited by Meetz1064; 06-12-2008 at 05:27 PM. Reason: Complete a thought |

| It's always good to volunteer. I volunteer for the Epilepsy Foundation and for other Organizations as well, including for CWE! Keep up the good work in Volunteering Hawk, it keeps you busy and occupied. |

| I volunteer 2 days a week for an organisation that takes people with disabilties on holidays & activites. On Tuesdays & Fridays I help out in their office doing the administration/reception work. I have also helped out with some of their activities like movie nights & camping. I also go to a nursing home 2 mornings a week. On Thursdays I help out with doing exercises with some of the residents. On Saturday mornings I visit one of the residents where we play card games or do craft activities. | I am volunteering at a local horse riding therapeutic association. They help kids with various handicaps. One inspiring story I heard from the person running this association is how people in wheel chairs usually have to look up to other people on a daily basis. But when they're riding a horse they actually look downward at others. It helps their self esteem. Animals of various types live there including several silly therapeutic dogs as well. It's a great refreshing environment outdoors from being cooped up in an office or my house too much. If I can't get there, I try to support them financially.

| I"m surprised you're allowed to donate. I've always been refused because of the Tegretol I"m on.
