in lieu of a laser, the long plastic sticks with a feather stuck on the end (no string, just the feather) seems to work to get my Gabriel bouncing around the bed as if it were a laser. I don't know if a flashlight would be OK rather than the laser but I use to have cats that would jump the wall with a flashlight.

Cant have flashing lights either. We sound like a fun house don't we? But the feather would be a great idea I might give that ago. The other thing my cats like is ping pong ball. Chase them for ages.

Thanks

Right now my cat Baxter is in love with a Walmart bag that is on the kitchen floor. He's always laying on the thing. My husband and I say that he is "Guarding the bag"!

If you came over and saw all the junk sitting around on my floor you'd think I'd never clean the place. It's pretty bad too that I leave the stuff there for the cats and that I don't throw it away!

I wish mine would play in/around a bag. Gabriel chews on the plastic ones (looks like braile when he's done), and Beau is just afraid of them. Every day is a different toy interest, you just never know with them.

I had to put one of my cats down a year ago and his favorite thing to do was wait until we went to bed at night then pull all the klenexs out of the box. We'd wake up in the morning with them all over the house!

Reminds me of the time I came home, and Dolly dog got to the toilet paper! I had toilet paper from one end of my house to the other! She had a great time! All I could do was laugh-after all I was TP'd by the dog!!

One of Gabriel's nicknames (he has many) is thumbs. If a door isn't properly latched he opens it, and drawers too. Sometimes we get up in the morning and it looks as if a robber's ransacked the place.

My 3 legged kitty Juno likes anything she can pick up and carry along in her mouth. I bought these cheap toy balls covered in fabric that have little things that rattle in them and she absolutely loves them. I throw them down the hall (sometimes I set up an obstacle course to mix things up a little too!), she chases them full speed and she runs back to me with it in her mouth looking all proud of herself. She drops it at my feet and pokes/meows until I throw it again. She's even caught some mid air before. Most of her toys end up under the couch or under my bed so every couple of weeks I'll go fish some out for her.

Also she finds any kind of movement under fabric (i.e. a blanket) absolutely entertaining. Sometimes I'll lay in bed and move my hand around under the blanket and she'll ambush it

Other than that she likes random bits of stuff on the floor. Sometimes she will knock the bin over just to get something out to play with like a tissue or something :P

Oh and I bought her a cat tunnel a couple of weeks ago, she loves it.

All of these are adorable, actually.

My cat loves aluminum foil crumpled into a ball. She's 10 now and it still makes her crazy. She only really likes toys if you play with her. Laying around she wants nothing to do with them.

We call that "bed mouse" - a great game!

My cat used to love playing with the vaccum cord while I was sweeping the floor. Most cats run and hide but not him. I'd be tripping over him while I was trying to sweep the house. It took a good bit to scare him!

My Stowie loves fetching paperclips! She'll drop one at my feet and wait for me to throw it across the room so she can run and jump to get it and bring it back for up to 30 minutes because she's spoiled. She's been loving that for eight years now. My mother in law came to town last year and gave my Junipurr a ball that fell off her robe and he hardly ever lets that fuzzy pink thing leave his sight. He gets pretty defensive when he sees me move it out of the way. You know those "I hate you" looks that we receive from grumpy animals.
