Altered State of Consciousness-any of various states of awareness (as dreaming sleep, a drug-induced hallucinogenic state, or a trance) that deviate from and are usually clearly demarcated from ordinary waking consciousness.

The Writer forgot to mention
"Christian Science" (not to be
confused with Scientology) which
they practice 'mind over matter',
which really isn't a religion, but
have positioned themselves as one
since they use the Biblical scriptures
as concepts ~ very similar to Alcoholics
Anonymous to give a generalized example
which is very different from

Ying/Yang - Mediation / Yoga - Eastern
Style (including Indian) which also the
Writer failed to mention as well, which
is not like the above but totally in a
different concept and perspective overall.

How does one separate the above two?
Very easily:

The first paragraph sees one under
submission to a higher form of power.

The second paragraph sees one in
conjunction or intermingled to that
higher form of power.

Both of these fields do work in regards
healing of the body if used properly,
for there is a balance and harmony.
For all things ... in moderation.
