| Guys with epilepsy tend have a higher incidence of ED then the general population, but the research isn't out there to say definitively what role the anti-epileptic drug meds play. Some of the older meds are known to affect testosterone levels, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of data out there for the newer ones. Given that you are on three meds, they may be contributing in some way -- if nothing else they could be affecting energy levels. Assuming that there are no other health issues that might be causing the ED, you should talk to your neurologist about perhaps backing off on dosage levels. If that's not an option, there are ED drugs that are considered safe for people with epilepsy to take. |

| largent803, I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one out there with an epileptic condition (notice I didn't say "Epilepsy") that suffers with ED, since 04/98.(thank the lord that I already have my kids) My neurologist and I both agree it's from the meds. and not the epileptic condition. The only solution that my neurologist. recommended was another drug like Cialis or Viagra. I've posted this on 3 other epilepsy posts but didn't get much of a response. Could it be that most men feel unconferatable talking about it to others? Funny thing tho ~ my family Doctor is a female and I mentioned it to her ~ "to get a "RISE" out of her, (no pun intended) and all she could do was send me to a Urologist.

| RanMan My wife has been doing hormone therepy recently from a company that specializes in it. The biggest thing we have seen is a better sense of well being. And an increased drive to be more personal. She needed to get some her testostrone levels up as she was estrogen dominate. Since this company also works with guys as well. I am talking with them keeping in mind my medications about possibly doing some hormone therepy for me. I am guessing that with medications that I am taking they have driven my testerone levels down. I have tried all of the ED meds and have found that they do not work. So we will see what they have to say. |

| I'm not a man but Tegretol decreased my sexual performance while I was on it. It is the only anti-epileptic drug that has ever done that to me (TG!). It wasn't that I wasn't interested...ummm...things were just kinda numb. |
