Epilepsy Drugs May Increase Fracture Risk in Older Patients


In case any seniors are out there, just found this article from newsinferno that says according to the Archives of Neurology, most epilepsy drugs are associated with an increased risk of non-traumatic fracture in individuals 50 years of age and older.

I know that my Tegretol has been recently found to create osteoporosis. I've been advised to take Vitamine D & Calcium. Probably a good idea for those younger than me on anti-epileptic drug's to avoid my situation when older.
