Gluten Free Diet

Has anyone heard of this? I just heard my cousin (who has epilepsy) went on a gluten free diet and her seizures stopped. Now she wants to talk to me to get me on it. I have to say Im really getting excited as I eat grains in almost every meal and Ive had nothing but trouble with these seizures.

I should also point out that my neurologist says my epilepsy is genetic because my mom and my sister have them too (and I just found out my cousin) so maybe I inherited an inability to handle gluten or something...

What do you think?

I know I shouldnt get my hopes up.

I think you might be on to something here xenome.
Why not do a search here... in the menu bar, type in the word gluten. Read up a bit. We have had some great discussions on subject.

YES!YES!YES! Gluten is tough on the body and can be a cause to lower the seizure threshold!!

I have posted that there was a study done, when children with celiac (or sensitivity to gluten) were exposed to gluten, they had abnormal EEGs. Go figure...
