The good side to stress...

Well, since I've been going down the 'slippery slope' in work, having the boss on my back every day with questions left-right-and centre, work forced down my throat, etc. etc. etc., as you all know by now I chucked it in two Thursdays ago without having a job to go to (it's a month's notice, so still buys me a little time). I basically had a choice....stay and walk-out eventually, or do it the right way (plus, you know how WE have to think about our health more than others too)

All the stress I've had lately has kinda distracted my mind from those horrid things called seizure's, and had me have to focus 100% on my future career path....

....and the funny thing is, I haven't had a seizure for 3wks,1day now, which must be the longest length of time for months (for me that is).

I guess this is kinda like a follow-on in a sense from Robin's thread about the power of the mind with placebo's etc. as my mind focus/concentration has been re-directed from the 'how do I feel?' that I usually ask myself when 'assessing' my seizure-self.

So, here's to stress

The moral of the story : there's always something to learn from everything, no matter how bad it may seem.

I have found that when I am rushing around like a headless monkey, I do not have seizures, but I think this is due to distraction and strong concentration

Thumbs up

Stress depending on the issue and situation,
it can control you or you can control it.

But there are circumstances where such
situations where issues can surmount (which
you cannot control) and the stress level pushes
the seizure threshold levels at a high risk.

Having been on both sides of the field; so yes,
you can control the tolerance of the stress
threshold in some situations, and in other
situations - no, you can't control it; however,
this isn't to imply that there are ways to "the
back door" in dealing with it - which can help
LOWER the seizure threshold.

So congrats on maintaining on the stress
threshold levels and keeping those seizures
at bay!

I have to

agree.....the more I concentrate, and the less distracted I am......the more the seizures seem to...."stay away"? Although, I am very well controlled anyway, I've been having some strange twitches lately......and don't know if they're new E stuff or not. But they seem to stay at bay when I'm concentrating on other things......

So yes, I guess there IS an UP SIDE to stress.......

I'm better off when I'm busy. It also keeps me out of trouble.
