LED Incapacitor aka puke light to replace Tasers?

This new piece of technology called a "LED Incapacitor," referred to as a puke light, is being developed by researchers in California.

"Everyone's had, probably, the effect of a flashbulb going off in your face where you turn and try to look and you're seeing the after effect of the flashlight so you can't focus very well at what you're looking at," said John Farina, Intelligent Optical Systems.

The flashing lights cause disorientation and make some people sick to their stomachs. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is particularly interested in the tools.

But Ward has a long list of concerns, mainly the size. He says the flashlights are too big for officers to carry on their belts, and there's also a big question about how the strobe lights could affect people with mental illness or some medical conditions, like epilepsy.

I wonder if they are going to train everyone who uses this how to respond if it causes a seizure.

Been on the news all day, and on the stock
show, and saw it on the Health Channel,
and it's going to be a problematic issue for
those who have cardiac, neurological, mental,
or some type of health problem(s).

Tasers have already caused deaths. Some
people avoid getting their pictures taken.
We have LASER (aka LAZER) GUN FIGHTS
(similar to paintball) and there's a Health
Warning Placard on the front and it specifies
Health Issues and they use LEDs too. Some
places have shut down because people were
disregarding the Health Warning and it was
provoking cardiac or epileptic seizures.

So this will be pretty interesting.


ONE THING TO NOTICE HERE IS: This thing
is NOT going to work during the DAYTIME
though ....
